O'Reilly Book "97 Things Every Software Architect Should Know" Accepts A Write Up From Kamal

An axiom contributed by Kamal has been accepted to be published on the O'Reilly Media book "97 Things Every Software Architect Should Know".

The write up is titled "Capacity to implement is as important as knowing how to implement".

The book is a community effort lead by Richard Monson-Haefel and is to be published by O'Reilly Media in year 2009.

"Service Oriented Architecture - Making IT Infrastructure Speaks Business" - Presentation At The ISACA 4th Annual Conference

Kamal presented a paper titled "Service Oriented Architecture - Making IT Infrastructure Speaks Business" at the ISACA Sri Lanka Chapter's 4th Annual Conference on Information Technology Governance. The conference took place on the 18th and 19th of September, 2008 at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel, Colombo.

Kamal is the Marketing Director of the ISACA Sri Lanka Chapter (2008). The paper and presentations slides should appear here in couple of days.

The Second Bacth Of ICTA Nanasala e-Society Members Receives Trainings On HTML/CSS and GIMP

After the first session was over, the Information And Communication Technology Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA) organized the same two day training (Web Designing Using CMS) for a second group of its Nanasala members.

In addition to the short GIMP training that was done during the first training, Kamal also covered a portion of HTML and Cascading Style Sheets (CSSv2).

GIMP Training For ICTA Nanasala Project

GIMP is an open source image manipulation program which is available free of charge. Kamal did a short training on GIMP for a group of about 40 participants who gathered at the Distance Learning Centre Ltd, Colombo. The portion on GIMP was part of a two day training (Web Designing Using CMS) organized by the Information And Communication Technology Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA) as part of their Nanasala Project.

Computer Society of Sri Lanka (CSSL) invited Kamal to deliver a talk on IT Governance and Enterprise Architecture for its members.

The event was held on the 28th of May, 2008 at the OPA Building, Stanley Wijesundera Mw., Colombo 07, Sri Lanka.

Motorola Sends A Second Batch Through Software Patterns Training

A second batch of engineers at Motorola Technologies Lanka (Pvt) Ltd concluded going through a customized version of Software Patterns Training on 05th of May, 2008.

Motorola was happy to request the same training for the second time for the group that missed participating the first training which happened last year.

The company has a highly skilled group of engineers developing software for Motorola products.
