Talk on "IT Governance And Why FOSS Matters"

Submitted by Kamal Wickramanayake on March 15, 2007 - 07:44

I will be delivering a talk on "IT Governance And Why FOSS Matters" at the IET Monthly Forum on this 29th. This month's forum is held at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya.

I'll see if I can record something useful and post here.

A brief description I wrote for the organizers:

"IT Governance is part of the Corporate Governance focusing on the performance and risk management of information technology systems in organizations. This presentation focuses on how FOSS can be used to establish successful IT Governance. It compares and contrasts the benefits and issues of FOSS as opposed to closed software solutions."
