The Business

Software View is a registered business in Sri Lanka owned by Kamal Wickramanayake.  He is an IT Architect and a Software Architect based in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Through Software View, he delivers software and information technology related trainings to other businesses and the public in general.

Formed in year 2007, we have delivered trainings well received by our valued clients. And most of the clients have been keen to ask for more trainings, not just one, since we build trust upon our ability to offer pragmatic trainings that bring value to them. Some of our past engagements are highlighted here.

Not just for corporate clients, we also deliver trainings to self organized groups. Furthermore, individuals with demands are also catered (personal mentoring) upon us having no conflicting schedules.

The Web Site

This web site is powered by Drupal, a popular content management system written in PHP. Several non-core Drupal modules are also being used.

Images are edited using The GIMP. Digital video camcorder captured scenes are transfered and edited using Kino, transcoded using FFMPEG, presented as flash using FlowPlayer. All these are done on Fedora Linux OS running inside a 1.6 MHz Dual Core laptop from Dell. Drupal, PHP, The GIMP, Kino, FFMPEG, FlowPlayer and Fedora Linux are all Free and Open Source Software (FOSS).
